Make Your Own Bath Salts

After a long hetic day, what is one of your favorite things to do? For me, I love running a nice, steamy salt bath, complete with candles and maybe even some relaxing music to enhance the mood.

Why buy expensive bath salts at the store, when it is so easy to make at home? One of the benefits of making your own bath salts is that you know exactly what you're soaking in (no nasty ingredients here).

Soaking in bath salts also:

 * stimulates circulation
* reduces skin inflammation
* relieves muscle tension (great if you sit at a computer all day!)
* polishes skin
* opens pores and draws out toxins
* nourishes the body with calcium, magnesium and potassium

Ingredients:

4 c Sea Salt
15-20 drops of Essential Oil (your favorite)
Dried fragrant plants, (rose, lavender, etc) optional

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, add drops of the essential oil to the bath salt and mix well, add dried plants and mix in.  Store in a  pretty glass jar. Add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the scented salts to a bath for a soothing, luxurious experience!

To keep the plants from floating, spoon some salts into a sachet bag and place the sachet bag in your tub.
