Mint Sun Tea

Summer is a beautiful season, filled with good times and sunburns. But doesn't it sound wonderful, to cool off with a tall glass of refreshing iced Mint Sun Tea?

I have fond memories of visiting my grandparents when I was young. My grandma and I would wake up early and make her famous tea. Then we would sit on the deck and chat about everything under the sun. Times spent with my grandparents are very precious to me, may they rest in peace.

In honor of my grandma, I would love to share the recipe she passed down to me.

What you need

1 glass quart jar
1/2 c loose green tea leaves
1/2c mint leaves
1 quart of water
lemon wedges

Directions

1. Pour water into jar
2. Mix tea and mint leaves in water
3. Close the lid and set the jar outside, where it will receive the best sunlight
4. Let it seep all day
5. Once the tea is done, strain it and pour the liquid tea back into the jar
6. Pour tea over ice and garnish with lemon wedge
7. Enjoy!

Chef's Note
The strained leaves can be used as mulch

Bon Appétit,
Elle

  1. I was just thinking about making some tomorrow morning. I live on sun tea during the summer months.
